Why do we exsist?

Just as every Christian should belong to a local congregation, we believe every church or ministry should belong to a wider family.

We both need one another and are needed by one another. Christianity is personal but never private; we are called to live in a Christ-shaped, interdependent relationship with other Christ-followers.

Yet many churches and ministries remain isolated or orphaned. Even where there is a formal link to a denomination or affiliation, there is often little genuine relational connection with like-minded leaders. Harvest Alliance exists to meet this need. Member churches and ministries are encouraged to recognise and relate to Harvest Alliance as their primary “tribe” or affiliation, while many also remain part of a denomination or other network for a variety of reasons.

We are a true alliance: each member ministry is organisationally and legally autonomous, while Harvest Alliance provides a framework for relationships, mutual accountability, shared resources, and assistance to member ministries.

Ministry is a journey—an ultramarathon, not a sprint—and none of us is meant to run it alone. We need people around us who are on the same road.

Lead by Vision

Our Fire Values are at the heart of Harvest Alliance; they shape who we are and how we do things. These were written many years ago by Jim Curtis (HA Global Team) and is the common thread that pulls together the churches, ministries and organisations of this global family.

Our Values

Building and nurturing authentic Kingdom relationships is one of our highest priorities at Harvest Alliance. This family exists to support, share, encourage, and do ministry life alongside one another. When we come together, we also become part of the global “bigger picture” — the Bride of Christ. Because of this, we highly value meeting together in-person. This requires an investment of time, money and effort, but we believe that individually we are a blessing to the body of Christ, and in return we will be greatly blessed by the body.

Word A defining feature among our leaders and members is a steadfast adherence to the authority of Scripture and a dedicated defence of biblical teachings, while simultaneously recognising and celebrating a diversity of theological perspectives and traditions. This highlights the “Word” aspect of our relational and apostolic family. Spirit We share a value for revival and a commitment to remaining sensitive and responsive to the ongoing work of the Holy Spirit in our time. This commitment reflects the “Spirit” aspect of being a ‘Word and Spirit’ relational and apostolic family.

Our Vision

Our History

The roots of Harvest Alliance stretch back several decades. Its founders and many member churches and ministries were profoundly impacted by a significant outpouring of the Holy Spirit that began in the mid-1990s and continues today. This revival or renewal, was not confined to a single location but spread rapidly around the globe. To name a single location or ministry would not capture what unites us, as countless diverse and often unconnected ministries were touched by this move of God.

Many of the Core Team leaders in Harvest Alliance have collaborated across various contexts for many years. Some previously belonged to different networks, denominations or affiliations, while others worked together on staff at churches or ministries. Several have been involved in church plants or attended ministry schools together.

While Harvest Alliance recognises and honours its heritage, our focus is on what God is doing now. We are committed to diligently pursuing the calling God has placed on us for this time.

As of January 2020, many of our churches and ministry partners came together as a fresh expression of our revival movement. We continue as a relational, apostolic network of churches birthed in revival and shaped by our FIRE values. This is an exciting new chapter for our global family, and we invite all our friends to join us on this journey.

In every revival, a new unity in the Holy Spirit is birthed as the Lord reveals His heart to a new generation. Harvest Alliance is no exception to this, and as we continue to encounter the Lord in the power of the Holy Spirit, He has revealed to us our heavenly commissions through the FIRE Values outlined above. We will continue to pursue a deeper experience of the manifest presence of the Holy Spirit, who enables us to flourish and grow. Let the river flow! (Ezekiel 47)

One of the main keys to Harvest Alliance is the life we share together. You are uniquely gifted to bless, strengthen and encourage the Body of Christ through your God given abilities, resources and giftings (Ephesians 4:15-16). You are blessed to be a blessing (Genesis 12:1-4). It is also our greatest wish that you would be deeply refreshed and encouraged by the ministering of the Holy Spirit through the ministry of other Leaders in our movement. Cross-pollination of ministries is a real blessing to us all.
